Get the Lorde Look

Friday, March 14, 2014

Hi everyone! Today I decided, why not try doing my makeup like Lorde? After all I am a tiny bit obsessed with her at the moment. After studying multiple pictures of her and rummaging through my makeup collection, this was the result and I am going to show you how I did it.

Face

For the face, I used "B. Naked Light Hydrating Foundation" so that I could achieve the flawless dewy finish that is always visable on Lorde's skin. I buffed this into my skin using a Real Techniques Buffing Brush. Then, for concealer I used "Collection Lasting Perfection Ultimate Wear Concealer" simply to cover up any imperfections and to highlight under my eyes. This is the perfect concealer as it lasts all day and won't budge on your skin.

Eyebrows

I find that in most pictures Lorde has lovely dark, defined eyebrows that aren't too thick or thin. My natural eyebrow shape is pretty similar to Lorde's so all I needed to do was take the darkest brown from the "Collection Smokey Eyes Pallet" and fill in my brows.

Eyes

Lorde never tends to wear a heavy eye makeup look so I decided to stay in the minimal territory. To do so, I used the "MUA Undress Me 2 Palette" which happens to be a dupe for the Naked 2 pallet. I began by sweeping the lightest skin tone shade called naked all over my lid and then I took a dark brown (which I think is called oblivion but don't take my word for it)  and popped it in my crease and on the outer third of my eyelid. Next, I took a white eyeliner by Mac in the shade "fascinating" and put this in my waterline and then I used a black eyeliner by Barry M and placed this in my tight line. I used "Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Express" on my eyelashes but using very little, I hardly put any on my bottom lashes because again Lorde goes for the very natural look.

Contouring

For contouring, as I do every day, I used the "Sleek Faceform Pallet"  because I think it has really nice natural colours in it. I used the "Real Techniques Blush Brush" To apply the bronzer and blush for again, a more natural look. I then used the "Real Techniques Contour Brush" to define the bronzer a little bit more
and to apply the highlighter.

Lips

For the lips, I used one of Soap and Glory's Sexy Mother Pucker Gloss Sticks in the shade plum jam. It is a gorgeous deep red and even though it appears to be quite a harsh colour, when applied to the lips, it turns into a super amazing, sheer, glossy colour. Lorde is mostly seen wearing dark colours and this is the reason I chose this colour.

I hope you enjoyed this post:)
