Top Makeup Products of 2014
Tuesday, January 13, 2015Hello everybody! In light of the new year, I thought it would be a good idea to reflect on some of the most significant beauty products of 2014. I have selected 4 items that I have used and loved throughout the months so I hope you enjoy reading my picks!
1 - Rimmel, Wake Me Up Foundation, £8.99
This foundation is like my holy grail. Magically, it makes all of my spots, redness and general 'morning zombie-ness' disappear. It states "anti-fatigue" , claiming to make your skin appear more awake and fresh; I can 100% confirm that this foundation does exactly that, making it perfect for them mornings when you just can't keep your eyes open. Not only does it cover up under eye circles, it's "radiant glow" further enhances your skin through small specks of glitter. Don't worry though! The glitter isn't visible at all, in stead it creates a natural, healthy glow. I definetely would reccomend this foundation to anybody who maybe isn't used to wearing foundation or wants to start up their make up collection.

2 - Sephora Rouge Lipstick, Hot Tango, £8.25
Now, I don't know where I would be without this lipstick as it is my number one every day red shade, not being too dark but also not too bright and orange toned. I bought this in Paris along with my friend and I have to say that both of us have used it so much that it is beginning to look quite natural! Not only is it a gorgeous colour, but it is extremely pigmented which in some cases can make is slightly hard to apply. However, it does mean that it lasts all day even after eating and drinking. This truly is one of my favourite lipsticks of all time.

3 - Real Techniques, Buffing Brush, £9.30
If you are looking for a foundation brush, I promise you this will tick all of the boxes. Personally I prefer flat top buffing brushes to apply my foundation as I feel that they allow you to apply your makeup with more precision. Not only this but this brush in particular leaves a flawless, airbrushed finish which is an aspect that i really love about this brush. I think that this is the perfect brush for starting up your makeup kit, at a reasonable price too!

4 - Benefit, They're Real Mascara, £19.50
At a more pricy purchase, this Benefit mascara has been one of my favourite products throughout the entire year. The wand not only lengthens but volumises, lifts and separates your lashes leaving an ultra glamorous twist on any makeup look. I find this the perfect every day mascara as it is completely buildable without leaving your lashes clumpy. One negative side of things is that personally, I find that it runs out fairly quickly, within a month or two; being as expensive as it is, you would expect it to last a little longer. Overall this is probably my favourite product of 2014 and definitely worth splurging on!
